Active Investigation · Who Qualifies
Four questions tell us most of what we need.
Every situation is different, and no checklist decides a case. But if the four criteria below describe you or your child, your situation is squarely within what we are investigating — and worth a conversation.
Start your case review.
The criteria
Who this investigation is for.
- ✓ Currently under about 22 years old. Generally young people born in the late 1990s or the 2000s.
- ✓ Significant use before turning 18. Instagram™, TikTok™, Snapchat™, Facebook™, or YouTube™ — hours a day, during childhood or adolescence.
- ✓ A serious harm followed. See the categories at right. A formal diagnosis is helpful but not required to start a review.
- ✓ The devices still exist. Old phones and tablets can matter as evidence. Please do not dispose of them — even ones no longer in use.
Harms we are examining
- Social-media addiction & compulsive use
- Depression & anxiety
- Eating disorders — anorexia, bulimia, disordered eating
- Body dysmorphia & reduced self-worth

Parents can start a review for their child For parents
You can make this inquiry on your child’s behalf.
Many of the families we hear from are parents who watched a child struggle and want to understand their options. If your child is a minor, you can start the review for them. If they are now a young adult, we can speak with either of you.
A review is free and confidential, it creates no obligation, and it does not create an attorney–client relationship. We will tell you plainly whether we believe we can help.
A note on timing
Legal deadlines — statutes of limitations — apply to these claims and vary by state and circumstance. If you believe your family may have a claim, it costs nothing to find out where you stand, and waiting can matter.
